About Me

I've been writing stories for many years now.  I've learned to love good writing from stories like those by C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Eloise Jarvis McGraw, and Charles Dickens.  I enjoy novels, historical fiction, biographies, science fiction, and mysteries.  Stories have often drawn me into that world of creativity and imagination.
My mom and dad have helped me love writing.  Being home-schooled I've had the opportunity to create my own unique writing assignments.  Some of these writing idea have included: write a story in which the main character is non-living (i.e. a chair or teddy bear); randomly select pre-written sentences, then write your story fully incorporating those sentences; write a story from a picture; write a story in which you use made-up words that convey your intended meaning; or write several title ideas on pieces of paper, randomly select two or three of them, and write one story that would have those titles.  From such creative ideas I've developed a love for writing.  Writing stories is like an adventure.  I'm never quite sure where my story will take me.  It poses challenge to try to convey my ideas and thoughts in a way my readers will comprehend.  While writing my own stories I get to read a story that no one has ever read before, and that is a fun thought.
Although I have not written many long stories, I have probably written over a hundred short stories.  Each new story idea brings new characters, new personalities, new dilemmas and hardships to overcome, and new conclusion and triumphs.  Writing stories can be as exciting as reading a book or watching a movie.  With a good imagination, sometimes I feel like I am literally watching my story take place.  Sometimes I can picture every character, every scene, the tone of voice in which a word is spoken, and the smells that accompany the descriptions of baking bread, roasting turkey, fragrant flowers, or a light spring rain.
Writing stories can take me into another world.  I hope you enjoy journeying with me in this wonderful realm of stories!  Enjoy this blog!
